Join us on a coach trip to the Battle of Britain Museum & Memorial.

 

Kent's Battle of Britain Museum houses the world's largest Battle of Britain collection of memorabilia and artefacts from over 700 crashed aircraft on display.

 

Stuart-Buttle Hangar

Hurricanes, Spitfires, Defiant, Harvard, Tiger Moth, other RAF aircraft, vehicles, fifteen Rolls Royce Merlin engines and displays of related artefacts.

 

Lord Dowding Memorial Hangar

Three Messerschmitt Bf 109Es, Fokker Triplane, Gotha bomber fuselage, Air Raid shelters, Ack Ack guns, Luftwaffe engines, Airfield diorama, a Home Front section and displays of other related artefacts.

 

Operations Block

Items from over 700 British and German aircraft recovered by the Museum, mainly in the '60s and '70s.

 

Armoury

The world's finest collection of original RAF and Luftwaffe uniforms from the Battle of Britain, personal effects of those who flew, weapons both airborne and ground-based, a First World War section, over three hundred fine art prints and, overall, a thousand autographs of "The Few".

Cosy café offers a good range of both hot & cold food and drinks at inexpensive prices.

 

Shop

A wide selection of aviation themed products are on offer including Corgi and Hobby Master diecast models, Airfix kits, books, DVDs, clothing, greetings cards and replica and educational items.

 

V1 and V2 Display

Houses a life-size replica of a long range V.1. flying bomb and related items from the V.1. & V.2 raids.

 

Museum Grounds

The centre piece is a display of three Gate Guardians Hurricanes. Also to be seen are a Queen Mary Tasker trailer with Spitfire fuselage, Junkers Ju 52, Heinkel He III, Blenheim Mk IV, three Pickett Hamilton Forts, a Pill Box, Spirit of the Few monument, Last of the Few Memorial, an Airfield memorial and the "Dig for Victory Garden".Visitors are very welcome to have picnics on the grass if they don't wish to have a meal or a tea or coffee with a sticky bun in the 25 Squadron Mess &Tea Room.

 

We then go on to view the Battle of Britain Memorial and have included entrance to The Scramble Experience, a hands-on attraction that uses audio-visual effects, a video wall and other special techniques to show something of what it was like for the Few in the summer and early autumn of 1940.
